Become a Sponsor for Boarding School Classes of

HEARING-IMPAIRED CHILDREN IN MALAWI

In Malawi, Southeast Africa, there are three schools for hearing-impaired children: Mua School for the Deaf, Maryview School for the Deaf, and Mountainview School for the Deaf.

​

Most of the children come from very poor families or are orphans. Parents who wish to send their children to these boarding schools must pay €18 per quarter for room and board. However, many families struggle to afford this amount or simply cannot pay it at all. The education at these schools is funded by local authorities.

​

The children start at the age of six, spending four years in preschool, followed by eight years in primary school. To ensure that the boarding costs and medical care for these children are covered, we are looking for sponsors willing to support a class of up to 15 children.

For 800€/year*, an entire school class is supported!

Hearing aids significantly improve the development of these children and are essential for enabling them to live and work independently in the future. In Germany, we collect used hearing aids, which are then individually fitted on-site.
