Also on our list was a return visit to the primary school in Chepezi , a neighboring village of Mganja. As a reminder, this primary school is also in a catastrophic state. It only has two simple classroom buildings, which are in dire need of renovation. The rest of the classes take place in makeshift reed shelters.

We are convinced that the Chepezi Primary School is essential for equal access to education in the region. Therefore, we are planning to renovate the existing buildings and build additional classrooms. Following an initial design and cost estimate by a local architect, we are currently intensively examining whether and, in particular, how the project can be financially realized.

To alleviate the acute need on site, we decided to finance an initial basic supply of teaching and learning materials—including books, writing materials, and teaching aids. We discussed the required materials with the teachers during our on-site visit.

We will report on the further progress of the project here on this website.
