We have been in close contact with the Kudimba Foundation on Lake Malawi for some time now. This institution has set itself the task of looking after children with physical and/or mental disabilities on weekdays ("daycare"). This task has recently been supplemented by a new project on the lake, the so-called Sandulika Project. Here, adolescents and adults with disabilities are to find meaningful work (vocational training in agriculture/horticulture and home economics) and also live there. The houses required for this are under construction. The agricultural land is currently being prepared. We visited this institution with Sister Josepha (Nazareth Development Trust) and were very impressed by the good care situation for the children. Opportunities for cooperation will probably arise for the Kudimba Foundation and us. We are currently working on a concept in close consultation with the chairwoman of the Kudimba Foundation, Maaike Bruynooghe.
