Our First Intern in Malawi - 18.05.2026

We are delighted to welcome our first intern. Joshua will be supporting us directly on the ground in the coming months, enriching our team.

He is completing his mandatory internship as part of his degree programme "Politics, Administration and Organisation". Together with our local NGO team and our friends and project partners of the Nazareth Human & Spiritual Development Trust, Joshua will gain deep insights into various projects and actively participate in them.

A central focus of his internship is the construction of the Lidzinji Primary School in Chepezi. Here, Joshua will not only learn about the administrative and organisational processes behind a project of this scale, but will also take on an important role in communications. In particular, he will report on all current developments and progress in Malawi here on this blog.

However, Joshua is also, in a way, our "guinea pig". It is our conviction and our aspiration to give young people the opportunity to get to know Malawi up close and to participate in our projects and the foundation's work in general on the ground. After all, the Goeldner Foundation itself emerged from just such an engagement.

Joshua will therefore also explore the possibilities of an intern's role, come up with activities and tasks that future volunteers or interns could undertake, and gather experiences that will be relevant for future volunteers. His time in Malawi will help us understand how we can build a structured and meaningful programme for future participants.

We kindly ask you to refrain from enquiries regarding internships for the time being. Once we have clearly defined the opportunities and framework conditions for internships and voluntary work, we will communicate these separately on our website.

We wish Joshua an exciting time in Malawi and look forward to his first-hand reports!
