After several months at sea and on African roads, the time has finally come: the container jointly organized and shipped together with the Franciscan Sisters of Salzkotten (www.fcjm.de) and Larissa Neumann (www.malawi-physio.de) has now safely arrived.
As already reported in our blog post from July 1, the container was loaded with a wide range of essential materials:
equipment for a new physiotherapy station, which will be operated by Larissa Neumann at Madisi Mission Hospital,
various solar systems and accessories for our projects,
agricultural tools for the “Tadzuka” permaculture project in Kampatha,
as well as furniture and equipment for our renovated guesthouse in Nazareth, Mganja.

The arrival in Kampatha, where the container will remain and be converted into a building - possibly a storage facility - did not come without challenges after its long journey. The administrative procedures with local authorities proved to be quite demanding on the final stretch. However, after a trip to the capital Lilongwe and direct discussions with the relevant offices, the situation could finally be resolved. The joy was all the greater when we were finally able to help unload and distribute the materials on site.

This joint project has been a success in many ways: thanks to the cooperation with the Franciscan Sisters of Salzkotten and Larissa Neumann, as well as the coordination by our friend and partner Andreas Watzek, numerous institutions in Malawi have been supported - from medical care and education to sustainable agriculture.
Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who contributed to the organization, loading, and transport of the container - especially Andreas Watzek and Larissa Neumann, who were with us on site and accompanied the arrival of the shipment. We would like to once again draw attention to Larissa’s physiotherapy project website and invite interest, support, and donations for her important work:
In addition to our many individual donors and members, we also wish to thank Dr. Christian Metje and Robin Schlenczek from Dr. Metje GmbH (www.dr-metje.com), who generously donated a large, complete, and nearly new solar system – which has now safely made its way to Malawi.
With the arrival of the container, an important milestone has been reached. We look forward to reporting soon on the installation of the solar systems and the continued progress of our projects. Updates on the furnishing of our guesthouse with the items from the container will follow here shortly.
