As previously reported, our guesthouse in Mganja, Malawi, has now officially opened. The building is located on the property of our close Malawian friends and project partners of the Nazareth Human & Spiritual Development Trust and is fully managed and maintained by its local community. After the previous owner had moved out, the house came under our care and is now used, in close cooperation with the Nazareth Community, both as an office for the planned registration of the GF Goeldner Foundation as a Malawian NGO and as accommodation for members, partners, visitors, volunteers, and tourists.. Renovation work was carried out by our trusted contractor, Emmanuel Chiputula, and we assembled the furnishings together on site. A large part of the furniture and equipment came from the container that arrived during our stay.

The flourishing garden surrounding the guesthouse is lovingly tended by Theresa, while Funny is responsible for cleaning and maintenance. Through the Nazareth Community, we offer simple but varied full board; the meals are freshly prepared each day by the cook, Abeta.

The costs for renovation, furnishing, and the payment made to the previous owner were covered entirely from our own funds – no donations made to the GF Goeldner Foundation were used for this purpose.

Income from rental primarily serves to support the self-sufficiency of the Nazareth Community; any surplus funds are fully reinvested into our local projects.

The house is now open to all guests wishing to visit Nazareth, Mganja, the surrounding area, and our project sites. The accommodation rate is 40 euros per person per night, including full board (three meals and beverages such as water, coffee, and tea). Further information, booking options, and photos will be published here soon and on a dedicated website.
