TADZUKA
PERMACULTURE IN KAMPHATA
The Tadzuka Permaculture Project is a permaculture and agriculture project in Kamphata, around 40 km from Lilongwe. On roughly 1.68 hectares, a regenerative and largely self-sustaining growing system is taking shape, one intended to bring food security, income and educational opportunities to the surrounding community.
Tadzuka is run by a team of young Malawians who operate and manage the project entirely on their own – from operations and training to the technical work. That is precisely why we support it.
You can follow the full journey of the project here on our blog.
At its heart are environmental sustainability, education and food security. Through composting, agroforestry and the integration of animals, fertile soils and closed, self-supporting cycles are being built.
Tadzuka is also a place of learning: through workshops, training courses and internships, people from the region come to understand the principles of permaculture.
Thanks to your donations, we were able to make the purchase of the land possible, laying the foundation for the entire undertaking.
We are now building the water supply: a borehole has already been drilled, and the next step is a solar-powered system that will provide the site with water year-round.
